I would add that presenting the postion of VGChartz detractors, from the start and in a reasonable way, actually works to prevent others from doing that later in a less reasonable way (out of laziness). Fighting those future edits on the other hand, promotes the exact opposite behaviour.
To whomever is doing this, my advice is: do include all valid criticism in your original submission, no matter how harsh. The more you include, the more balanced the article will look to someone who disagrees with your view, and the less likely that someone is to substitute your view for theirs.
Also, be prepared to see all that you've written erased and replaced by something you disagree with, and for a battle you probably can't win trying and make things right again. Not to sound disencouraging, but that's the extent of my experience with wikipedia anyway.
