I don't doubt the DS can be sold for several years longer.
I just highly doubt Nintendo is going to sit on their hands for another 3 years without releasing something new to compliment that. Especially at the rate they're refreshing their existing DS line.
A new handheld iteration from Nintendo is becoming almost a yearly thing now.
