@darth

well you can have a 360 or ps3 anywhere... you have to have a skybox wired to the dish.

so basically... less wiring and convenience.

So, if I was a Sky subscriber, and I owned a 360 (or perhaps, in the future, a PS3), then I would be able to use the console as a regular set top box? I'm not exactly sure how that would work.

why not?

you plug it in... connect to the internet and you have a set top box.  its tv streamed via the internet.

why dont you get it?

So you don't need a Sky subscription?

Let me rephrase: If I had a Sky subscription (I do), would I need to pay extra to get Sky Player on the console? And if I didn't, could I still use the console as a set top box? Would it be free?

For it to be free you either need A) Sky Multiroom B) Sky Unlimited Broadband. That's regards to Live TV, On-Demand stuff is free to Sky subscribers. Why don't you check out the Sky Player website. It's all on there.

Looking at the website now.

So, it's like iPlayer, but with Sky channels? Pretty nifty, I'll admit I didn't know this existed O_O
