Did the price cut really helps the PS3 and the Wii? Or its just temporary?

In the end, I think the pricecut was worth it in terms of increasing userbase, thus selling more software. Though the pricecut is much better for the PS3 as it now in a more competetive pricerange, and it needed a userbase boost more than the Wii or the 360.
