Well it isn't very hard to deduce that since the release of the NES (wide release in '86, not counting the Japanese release or limited US release in holiday '85), Nintendo has introduced their new consoles 5 years apart, so logic would conclude that fall 2011 is the logical time frame, with November being the most likely month of release based on the past 2 console launch cycles (Xbox, GC, 360, PS3 and Wii all launched during November).
I'd say OP has about a 95% chance of being right on the money.
