Good variety of fighters, and loads of single player modes. Character customisation is a blast, and kicking people off the edge with Siegfried never gets old.
However, the multiplayer is awful. And it doesn't really do anything new as a fighting game.
EDIT: I should mention that I've never played Soul Blade or any other Soul Calibur game, so my expectations weren't very high.
