I didn't really think EA were blaming the consumers, the only quote i heard was "it's a shame DSE isn't selling".
Regardless, if EA looks to blame the consumers rather than themselves they will, with the exception of a couple of their major franchises, continue to meet with failure on the Wii and that's a piece of pie they don't want to be missing out on.
