That's possibly because piracy is illegal, and sees no money going to the developer/publisher, and the buying or selling of used games, which does see money going to the developer/publisher isn't.  They are better than a pirate, and i'm really really struggling to see how you can justify lumping sellers/purchasers of second hand goods with people who illegally download software for free.

Someone purchases a game, and money goes to the publisher, they then sell that game at a lower price than they bought it to someone who wouldn't otherwise have bought that game, who possibly buys DLC also. The original purchaser then has extra money to spend on another game, another publisher gets money.  Plus, if there's no second hand market, you'd see far smaller game (and console) sales than we currently see.

It's high horse by the way. Highchairs are what babies sit in.

 

 

How is that so? Which money do they see form the used game sales? Please someone tell me. Where exactly do they get money from when you buy or sell your game used? Used means person to person, not person to publisher back to person. Also by your logic a pirate would have even MORE money to spend on games that the publisher releases in the future. Also the whole "wouldn't have bought it anyway" defense is a hallmark of piracy. In fact, jsut aboubt all of your defense, if you switch used games with piracy would be just as valid.

This doesn't have shit to do with legallity, at one point you could kill a black man legally, didn't make it more right or wrong, piracy is NOT stealing, it's making a copy, andpiracy as a whole does hurt more than used games, on the individual scale it doesn't change the fact that developers don't see any money and you play the game without paying the one who made it.
