Half-Life 2 has done it best. You can't do everything but you are given a lot of freedom in the given area, and the tims when you can't act are because of other source so the feeling of being trapped is much stronger, the way video games should be. |
I think Witcher has done it best personally, but that is based off a book. It mixes gameplay, great story telling and unique environment.
