Given the general sentiment 'round here lately, I guess I can understand why the OP finds this necessary, but I think you are much more worried then you have to be.
In the grand scheme of things there are two things you can be sure of this gen:
1) Sony is going to lose a crap load of the market share they had last gen, and
2) Nintendo is going to gain a crap load more then they had last gen.
How much of that particular pie Microsoft takes is the only thing that is up for grabs and 5 weeks in the middle of the gen do not decide that. I mean come on, there were rabid 360 fans screaming the death of the PS3 last year at price cut time...it's cyclical.
