Wow never expected Bayonetta to recieve full marks from Famitsu...

Really? Bayonetta is a better game than Tekken 6 which got 34?

More to the point, it's better than Uncharted 2, which got 37?

Hey, look, no non-Japanese game has ever gotten 40. What a shock.

When it is only a few points apart, why is it a big deal?  37 vs 40, for example.

It's the principle. 3/40 is equal to 7.5%. Tell me, is the gap between 100% and 92.5% a big one?

You know not everyone likes Uncharted. It is completely possible that Bayonetta is a better game

your rite about the 1st wrong about the second.. when to games of a different genres get different scores like UN2 37 and Bayonetta40 it doesn't mean Bayonetta > UC2.. it means Bayonetta is currently the best and most innovative action game available

His first point may be true, but those who dislike Uncharted (particularly Uncharted 2) are in a small minority. That's not the point, anyway. I used Uncharted 2 as an example, I could replace it with any number of games.

Now, Bayonetta is the best and most innovative hack and slash game available? Perhaps not the best, because there could be other 40/40 hack and slash games (there aren't, by the way). As I said earlier, a 40/40, or 10/10, or 95-100/100, means that it is a masterpiece, and it represents everything that is great about gaming. You won't want to stop, and when it ends, you will want to play it again. Five years down the line, you can still play and enjoy it. You have no significant complaints with the game, and nothing could have improved the experience in any significant way.

Looking at the videos, and the western previews, does Bayonetta look like it's in that class? For me, personally, Uncharted 2 is in that class, as are a few others.
