This kind of thing happens when you take a series jump from one system to another make the new game a prequel to explain the first game a bit more and then make it an on rails shooter, best way to alienate an entire fanbase.
On the other hand it is a great on rails shooter, the issue is the system has a few too many great on rail shooters and the ones that sell well usually start doing so on a budget price since people are more likely to buy a game in a genre known for being short with no depth beyond shooting and moving forward at a more cheaper price point.
Don't get me wrong this game is really a step above and doesn't fit the generalities of the genre, but really guys when you set yourself up to alienate the fanbase you already made then put it at a price point where the people that usually buy the on rails games won't buy them, then do absolutely no TV marketing (at least I didn't see any ads on TV correct me if I'm wrong here) and then complain on NeoGaf when no one buys your game... really... what did you expect?
