I actually purposefully tried to go as quick as I can. I've never tried to speed run a first playthrough of a Zelda game before and I have to say it made it a lot of fun. I was always on edge trying to get the puzzles solved as fast as possible. Just a tip: rolling everywhere instead of walking cuts about 3 hours off your end play time.
