I think you misunderstand the use of "bias" in statistics. It's not meant to imply prejudice or "cooking the books" but rather that an aspect of the data collection method is skewing the results in a particular direction.
A poll conducted by people calling a number displayed on Bill O'Reilly's show would probably have results very different from the same poll being conducted by an agency calling people at random, due to Bill's particular audience.
