Price has never had a major impact on the Wii's sales. It's all about software. First was Wii Sports. Next was Wii Fit. Wii Music and Wii Sports Resorts underperformed, but I don't think their next big title, New Super Mario Bros. will.
Wait until NSMB hits to jump to any conclusions over this.
