Most DS games look better than PS1 games. It performs better than PS1, but worst than N64.

Worse than N64?  Have you played Super Mario 64 DS?  Looks miles better than the original.

Better?.. Maybe, by miles... no. The most notable difference between DS games and N64 is the different types of texture filtering used. The N64 supports bilinear filtering(and I think Trilinear as well) while the DS doesn't. This makes DS games look much more grainy. In almost every other aspect they are pretty much the same though.

Just take a look at the Mario model in the DS version.  Looks much closer to the current 3D Marios than the blocky version in the original N64 game.
