Sony risked the PS3's credibility to save Blu Ray (which the  bigger picture for Sony as a whole). Nintendo risks credibility by pushing the envelope for new styles of gameplay and app use (Which they've been doing since before I was born). Sony has never risked anything for the sake of gaming. Sony risked gaming for the of their unpopular electronics.
