Oh man, I can't believe I didn't see the connection to the Phantom Blot! The Black Ink alone should be a dead giveaway, but he's right there on the cover...
Meanwhile, I still maintain that The Magical Quest was the best 2D Mickey game. The music alone is enough to merit the game a place among my top SNES titles.
