Dark Cloud is nothing like Dark Cloud 2. They should be two franchises. I never played DC but it looked really bad.

while this is kinda true, they are alot simillar , Dark Cloud 1 was alot like Zelda, and was harder than the second (you get thirsty alot) . but it was simillar as you have to build towns and get in dungeons to find georama stones.

but your hero is mute and nameless,  and the the storyline takes place in a not so steampunk town, way before the second game.
