run the check disk and if it turns up errors buy a new HDD. If you don't and you just use windows repair you are likely to have another failure soon. Typically once a HDD starts having problems you should just replace it.
If it comes with back with 0 bad sectors then you'd have to have a Mother Board problem, but I doubt it. Typically the Mother Board will outlast all the mechanical devices in your PC. HDD are mechanical and fail often, along with power supplies which are the #1 reason for catastrophic PC failure.
