Nice post One3nd. I had been hearing rumors like this as well. Bruce over at Rumor Reporter has a pretty good track record, unlike Quartermann, so there is more than likely some validity to this.
EDIT: I am not the biggest fan of FFXII either but I can't ignore the fact that Matsuno also is responsible for the Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre, and Final Fantasy Tactics series. Also Lafiel, Final Fantasy VIII was horrendous but I am not sure I can rank it below FFX-2. That game is a crime against humanity.
