Overall sales: How does affect the number of replaced/rebought consoles?

I honestly have no idea... I would imagine that if the person had to re-buy a console then it would count as another +1 to the total consoles sold on the site, as there is no way of knowing what has happened to them once the information about them being bought has been taken...
