The question should be: are Capcom and all the other big japanese companies happy with the sales of their PS3 games in Japan?

Just take a look:

Only ONE 3rd party PS3 game has sold more than 500.000 copies in Japan: MGS... of course, it's also a title doing quite well in the West, as many Capcom titles (but not Monster Hunter so far)... so the global sales may be OK... BUT... for the most famous franchises only...

I'm getting sick of this double standard: a Wii game with 1 million sales may be considered a flop, while all PS3 games under 500k will be considered as perfectly normal?

Something ain't right, if you also remember that the budget for any PS360 title is 2 or 3 times the one of a Wii title: is it supposed to be an healthy situation for the japanese devs? What would be their financial situation this gen without the profits made on DS games?

That "high budget" situation is the exact reason MH3 is a Wii title, btw: the expected poor sales in the West don't justify it to be released on the so-called "hardcore" consoles, it's more a game for the domestic market, and budget has been kept as low as possible, thanks to Wii (and its larger japanese userbase)...

But of course, Nintendo is the one to blame, always...
