I have a couple theories about insomniac.

1) we have an arsonist, but that would mean we have a firefighter

2) he was mafia and he went after a "bomb" ( http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Bomb )

3) outlawauron was really a bomb and he killed the final lyncher which was insomniac
