ok, the reasoning.
Last year the Wii was supply constrained. Not like previous years where it was impossible to find, but I'm sure that retailers shifted units around to make sure they had some stock each week.
This year, they will have more units then they know what to do with due to poor sales throughout the rest of the year (compared to last year). A $200 price cut, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros and the holiday season all combined point toward better sales this year than last year which was $250, Wii Music, Animal Crossings and that was it.
while sales are down YoY, I believe that this holiday will see a healthy sales due to strong advertising, a good price, and good games coming out.
anyways, It would be cool to see it break 2m in 1 week
