When you get to the title screen it will still say FF2, so calling it FFIV would only confuse people who buy it. Just like the US SNES release of FFVI will say FF3.

In fairness, Nintendo has changed menu graphics before (see: Sin and Punishment in English) on the Virtual Console. They could do it again, if they wanted.

Though at the moment I agree, this sounds like FFIV.
