Wii was a step up from GC with backward compatibility that was awesome. They can easily build on that. Add On is ridiculous. Show me a TV set that has an add on HD component. I've never heard of such a thing and don't see why that would be an option. It sounds silly. An upgraded box with new innards is the way to go. Can handle current library, GCN library titles still, and be capable of handling anything new that would appear on competition's consoles. The cost is affordable now. The number of HD households has grown over these last several years. It's a better time for the offering. And they have the market share to sell an revised system to the masses. They have the casual support and the ability to say "enjoy this inexpensive console with great motion control titles or step up to a stronger console to handle more advanced gaming titles." I'd buy it and look forward to the multiplatform games that it would deserve instead of having limited multiplatform games because of developers and their short-sighted-ness. I agree with the other person in here about HD gaming. I don't need it and can live without it. It's not a movie. It's a game. But if it is the difference that would give me RE5 on same date as the other consoles, then I'd be happy to see Nintendo make this move. They already sold the world on the product. Now refine it. Not for gamers only. But it gets rid of developers' excuses as to why not make their titles available on the Wii. With a WiiHD, they have no more excuses to bring over those cool multiplatform titles.
