Nintendo traditionally has a greater percentage increase during the holiday season than either Sony or Microsoft. In order for Wii to be down to 40% with sales stopping completely, non Nintendo platforms will have to make 54 million 40% of the total consoles sold, in other words 54/40*60 which equals 81 million PS3's and Xbox 360's total, or effectively increasing total userbase by 50% on what took them combined in 3 and 4 years respectively; and they would need to do it in the course of 3 months. Since it is unlikely that Nintendo will itself sell under 5 million this year, then you need to add another 7 million, for a total of 32 million.

Since the year has ~13 weeks left; that would mean 500K PS3's is FAR too low of a number to have sold, because Sony and Microsoft will need to sell a combined 2.4 million consoles per week from here on out.
