| nightsurge said: You guys are a piece of work. Will do anything to make Sony look like it is doing ok. No one compares handhelds with home consoles. You both know this and are just being prudes. The PSP Go is going to be the only time this generation an entry level handheld is going to cost more than a home console. My logic still applies to everything. It's not my fault Sony is retarded when it comes to pricing structures. And how can you say they don't have different purposes? Sure they play games, but by that logic then the iPod, the Zune, cell phones, etc are all considered consoles too? I mean they play games, right? The DS and PSP are handhelds meant for PORTABLE use. The PS3, Wii, and 360 are meant for home use which is why they come with power supplies rather than batteries. I'm not going to argue standards for success. There is no doubt that in comparison to the Wii, the 360 has not been a success for MS considering it even reached 10 million before the Wii did. The 360 overall is still a success, though, because it's purpose was to dethrone Sony, which worked perfectly. If the PSP was meant to dethrone Nintendo in the handheld market, it hasn't reached that goal. |
Just as it seems you will do anything to make them look bad. Seriously... you think selling 50 million units isn't a success? Seriously?
And... does it cost more? Yes, It does. So dont try to worm around it.
And is an iPods main use a games machine? Is a Zune's? Is a phone's? No. They are all catered to a different market, with added bonuses like games, internet... etc. Just as a gaming device's central use is gaming, a phones central use is to... guess what? PHONE.
So now we are going to the purpose of the machine? Sure, they will have loved to be the top handheld machine... but to enter a market that has been dominated by one company since for as long as anyone can remember, and still hold about a third of the marketshare... isnt a success? And you are saying it ISNT a success because the DS has done so well?
@ the green. How do you know it was supposed to dethrone Nintendo? Maybe it was a stepping stone to get them into the market. We dont know. You are just making up reasons now for it to suit you... and it wont work.
