| nightsurge said: I don't see how the PSP has had any sort of success. Sure it has sold more than any other second place hand held gaming device. But when it's only direct competitor has more than doubled it's total sales, that's not a success or something to brag about. If you want to keep making conditions and keep adding new variables to the equation to make the PSP look like it is doing better, go right ahead, but it really is pointless. Comparing a handheld to a console is just plain stupid. They have completely different purposes, completely different technology levels, and completely different pricing. Sure by definition if the DS outsells the PS2 it will be labeled as the best selling console, but it will also have the words "HAND HELD" in that award. No one ever directly compares home gaming consoles with portable handhelds in sales or otherwise. |
50 million units sold isn't a success?
And going by your logic, when the Wii likely doubles the 360 numbers sometime next year, does that mean the 360 wont be a success for MS?
They don't have different purposes, they are all there to play videogames on. Handheld or not, it is still a console. And they dont have completely different pricing, as the PSP Go is proving.
Infact, does the PSP Go being more expensive than an entry level 360 mean that the 360 isnt a console anymore? By your logic, it seems that way.
