Yeah, but there´s no real new software for the year´s end.

Cmon, people: we are excited for New Super Mario Bros Wii, sure...

But do you really belive "regular" people will buy it?

A 2d game for a home console?????????? in 2009?

Not a single chance.

So, new software wont move more units this chrismas, cause theres not any "new" software for the rest of 2009. A price drop could do the trick.

I do say that City Folk has shown us that there is a chance that NSMBWii will fizzle (not fizzle, but fail to light the console sales aflame, much as City Folk itself did), because users have different values for console games than for handheld games, but if this game does half of what the original NSMB did, it will be one of the top-selling games released in this year (though it won't get those sales all at once)

Different values for console games than handheld games. Thats exactly the point of what i was saying.

Im not diminishing the original New Super Mario Bros in any way: its an amazing game. I would love to play it on a big screen too.

But me (and a lot of you guys) im a game enthusiast: i read about it, talk about it (even if only online), i know the dates of major releases of the year and i know a good game when i see one, no matter what it looks like on the outside...

Regular people dont work that way.

They have a set of thoughts about gaming, unique and hard to change, that are nothing like our own thoughts.

New Super Mario Bros wont move a single new Wii unit. It will sell, but not move new units.

(you know what kind of software WILL move new units? Stuff that take the thrills from the movies, mix it up with motion controls (for a more intuitive gameplay and novelty factor), and serve it up in a nice package

Like the horror games that are coming up...

Or anything that puts WiiMotion Plus in an "action movie" setting)
