Lets just pretend the X BOX project hasn't netted Microsoft 10billion losses.

Oh, just because I didn't mention it doesn't mean I'm ignoring that either. It's just their system has been profitable for a while (and if they're smart, the next one will be profitable from day one), and I was hoping Sony would follow suit, but I don't know if that will even happen by the end of next year.

Microsoft has posted 2 consecutive quarterly losses, and with the Elite price drop, they are well on their way to more losses.  The data does not support your statement.  Don't feel bad for Sony, they just sold 500k consoles in a week.  I think they will be just fine.

That doesn't mean the 360 is sold at a loss, which is what I mean about the PS3.

And selling that many in a major move doesn't mean much unless the sales can be maintained well.

I think you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth on this.  I think a quarterly loss indicates that the 360 sells at a loss.  Remember the EDD includes Xbox Live which is a huge revenue generator for Microsoft.  PSN and Xbox Live probably have similar expenses, but Sony doesn't have any offsetting revenue.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
