Anything above 2 million for a new IP is good no matter what the console is.

And you just called LBP the most hyped game of all time...

What new IP's other than Gears has the 360 then sold "good" in your opinion?

So no, i dont agree.

Well, I never said the 360 was amazing at launching new IPs. I just said it wasn't bad.

Also, on this forum, LBP was the most hyped game of all time. The phrase "LBP will be huge" was serious and iconic.
This forum doesnt mean the world.

And yes, due to marketing, and its marketing power in trendsetting areas, I do think the 360 would be good at launching new IPs, assuming they use marketing power.
That could be said for any console.

Also, I did say that LBP and Uncharted were successful saleswise.
Okay, glad we agree

Crackdown sold pretty well to be a non-hyped game. So did Gears of War, but it was hyped. Left 4 Dead sold great on the console, as well as PC. Shadow Complex has quickly became one of the top selling XBLA games. GRAW sold over 2 million and spawned a sequel.
All the games you mentioned are at less sales than Uncharted. I dont get how Uncharted is classed as mediocre for PS3, but you include these as "good" sellers for 360. Maybe i misunderstood your post...

Those games launched pretty well on the Xbox.
Despite what i said, i agree with all of them selling pretty well.

There have been a number of notable flops on the PS3 that despite selling well, did underperform. The only new IP I can think of on the PS3 that really blew the roof off the joint were early titles that were pretty much staples in the library of most early PS3 owners. Resistance and Uncharted, to name a couple.
I dont know exactly what flops you are talking about... but i agree there have been some. Though, the same could be said for 360 and Wii.

Maybe it's just a misconception by me.

I think that I should put it this way.

I don't think that the PS3's software sales are generally any worse than the 360s.

Instead, I think that new IPs and sequels are adopted quickly by the mass audience, due to Microsoft's marketing power, and the nature of XBL.

Sony sells the software to games that people know about, but has a hard time informing people about new games that aren't already popular, instead having to rely on its fan community to spread the word. AKA Viral Marketing. Which works, but just not as good as real marketing.

So, you get stuff like Killzone 2 selling under 2m copies. That is Sony's failure.
Under 2 million copies so far. Will likely be at 2 million by 2010 though, and selling 2 million copies in less than a year is no small feat. Considering that its likely already outsold Killzone, i would say Killzone 2's sales are underwhelming considering the hype... but still good considering it will be at 2 million in under a year.
