I agree with the RE comparison.
Somehow, RE had a lot more replay value than CM
I am at the end of the game, and I had a straight 6 hours of playing, and it's a very fun game, I think it has the codes of the survival horror, but brings a new dimension because of pace and the place of the action.
Somehow, I find the combat system very frustrating and a bit repetitive. The movement are not very well recognised and it pisses me off a lot, especially the thrust with the nunchuck. Plus the fact the ghosts can go through walls when your shot can't :/ Funny things about the controls, because the devs said in an interview that 'the movement based actions have to be well implemented'. The worst part are the moments when you face a statue in the shrines and you have to make the movement of the lasso for a few minutes for the screen to become black. It's just awful how the movement recognition is so bad there.
However, I love the pace, the atmosphere and the overall game reminds me a lot Eternal Darkness.
