Actually, the Laguz are rather great. I just BEXP'd the herons to level 30, so they can fill up the Laguz' transformations gauges. Thus, none of them are useless,, as each Heron can keep a good 3-4 Laguz active at a time. Additionally, they're completely free to use. You can essentially use an entire (8) Olivigrass a round, and still have them cheaper than using Beorc. And they start at ridiculously high levels, compared to the Beorc, too. |
(I don't remember the herons boosting laguz transformation gauges but I'll take your word for it.)
I think you meant to say "usable" not "great" in this post.
Great is like Haar or Ike where you can throw them into battle without babying, without BEXP use, without needing support of any kind and watch them devastate the enemy units.
Having to spend a ferocious amount of BEXP on the herons and require their constant use on laguz just to make the laguz useful in battle doesn't make them great especially when you consider where you could be spending that BEXP and who you could be double attack/moving with the herons. Usable? Maybe. Great? No.
Also, you missed this part of woopah's post:
It's amazing to ask this considering just about every Fire Emblem does a majority of these already.
