but there is a risk of bricking it and it willl void your warranty even though mines expired long ago and i think i read somewhere maybe in this thread before that with the homebrew dvd playback on wii it actually burns your drive...

 

The only thing that you said that's true is the bricking part which mostly comes from screwing up when downgrading firmware. Everything else tells me you have no idea what you're talking about and just regurgitate what you hear on forums.
