No, psp has more ram than the ps2, and it has a faster processor, the only thing limiting it is disc space. It only has 1.8gb to work with.

When you guys get a chance to play God of War on the PSP, you will know that the PS2 easily beats the PSP in strength.

The PS3 can't even emulate all the PS2 games because of how complex the PS2 design is. It's got a lot more under the hood than just the amount of RAM and processor speed.

OT: congrats joining the current generation. Make sure you check out all the demos/trailers available for free on PSN, and buy a few games while you're at it (Super Stardust HD, fl0w, and Blast Factor come to mind).

Uncharted should be on your list for Christmas, as well.
