I strongly disagree with him on the Metroid issue. I love having a good story and some character development to go with my games. As long as all of it is completely optional (ie I don't have to scan things and I can skip the cutscenes if I want) then a game can be the best format for creating emotional experiences, like I've been saying in my Pause and Effect articles (shameless plug
)
But I really commend him on one thing: the fact that he openly admits that he's a member of the expanded audience and that he's representing a relatively-unrepresented group online. He usually makes good points, too.
