You should email this to him. (maybe edited it a little to show you're talking to him)

On your analysis: I believe you have a point here. His theory does at times seem to be trailered to his personal preference. Although I believe he's on to something, that could be because I feel the same way about these games.

I believe with Mario 64 though he doesn't give preferential praise because he (like me) prefers the 2D Mario games.

Also, I'm a fan and have criticized the New Super Mario Bros. I don't think a lot of people have though and I don't except his reason for it's sales either sense it's not convincing enough.

Still, I believe the general statement that content is a major factor in the success of games. And stale content will lead to stale sales if uncompensated for.

Again, I believe you should email your response to him.

I was thinking about it.  I might, but I haven't decided yet.  One thing I am a little unsure of is the way he uses the word 'content'.  I think I have it right, but I'm not entirely sure.

At any rate, I think the sales of these games shows that the way he has applied his theory is incorrect.  He is letting personal preference get in the way of fair judgement.

I do agree that stale content will lead to declining sales, I just don't think he has applied his theory fairly to all of these games.

Like Words of Wisdom said, only focusing on one aspect of these games will leave an analysis lacking.
