PS: Demons Souls is a WRPG. Doesn't matter where it has been developed since JRPG/WRPG are genres and not locations.

It's definitely still a JRPG.

While it may be dark and lots of black and brown, there are several Japanese themes to the world and its story.

I've seen far more WRPG influences in the game judging from trailers.
