4 million first week? Higher than Halo 3? No way.

First week: 2.5-3 million
LT: 6.5-7 million.

It'll be the best selling expansion of all time

Xbox 360 totals on Halo 3's launch was 12 million...and the game sold 3.8 million in week 1...and has gone on to sell 10 million copies.  Now, the install base has diversified, but I fully expect 15-20% of 360 owners are going to be interested in a Halo FPS...not only that...Halo War...a console RTS game...sold over 600K in launch week.

So we have

Halo - 6.43

Halo 2 - 8.43

Halo 3 - 10

Halo ODST - possibily lower than Halo....huh?

Sorry, but I'm not following the logic of some, unless they haven't even bother to review the data.

It will, of course, sell less than Halo 3 LT. That's something you, I, and every sane person on this planet, agrees upon.

ODST isn't exactly like Halo 3. It doesn't have Master Chief, for one. It doesn't have the usual run and gun combat. It's not as long, and may be considered by some to be an expansion. Nobody who doesn't own Halo 3 is really going to buy this game, and not everyone who owns Halo 3 will want it. Also, if this Slim $299 PS3 does exist (it does), that will hurt 360 sales a fair bit. And if Microsoft's only retaliation is to increase the hard drive size of the X360 Pro and rename it the Elite, then that isn't going to have much of an effect.
