Companies like money, they didn't know how to make money with the Wii and they still don't know. Of course some people in the development community don't like the Wii, but that's because of what it's not. You're implying something that is really quite imaginary.

I don't disagree with you completely, I just don't think it had that much to do with their history anymore. Third parties had their agendas, they were going to move into the HD era and considered the Wii as a secondary option. And they carried out that agenda without considering the possibility of the Wii turning out market leader, and they still don't really know what to do with it. Maybe some people are bitter that their agenda wasn't entirely successful, and blame the Wii for it, but it's a generalization to think that all of Nintendo's problems with third parties today are related to even that. The thing that most influences it, I believe, is how differently the Wii is doing business.

And quite frankly, if there is any continuation that you see that might be related to Nintendo's history, it's probably that they've always pioneered in some fashion. Third parties love a very predictable status quo and tend to align with it which is understandable, but Nintendo doesn't do that.
