"Lame" can be considered incredibly offensive to the disabled. I'm sure you could go through hundreds of insults and swear words with similar origins. I agree with the majority of the people on this thread who say that you're not going to change the way people speak and it really isn't that important.

If, however, the gay community want to try and do something about it by advertising-force using campaigns such as this, then fair enough. If it helps them achieve something they want then more power to them. If I were the kind of person who used this phrase, however (and I'm not), then I wouldn't feel obliged to take any notice.

I was thinking of that as well. However, I don't know any disabled people so I guess I am safe. But then again, it's still not nice.
