lot of good recommendations
@Squillium: As ruimartiniman noticed, I already have bioshock and assassin's creed, which are both great games.  What he didn't notice was that I own Oblivion also, and hate it.  I like Bethesda, don't get me wrong.  They just made some really bad decisions on Oblivion.  If I decide not to get Colonization on computer, I will probably get it on PS3.  That being said, I'll probably get it for the PC.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your effort.  You just failed at this one

@ruimartiniman:  Thank you.  Because of your recommendation I realized I didn't have Rachet & Clank: Up your arsenal in my game list.  Game list +1; Now if I could only find time to play it.

Disgaea 3 - I heard a lot of good recommendations about this game, I think I'll get it.

Resistance/Uncharted/Killzone - I am trying to avoid generic FPS games.  Is there anything special about these games that makes them unique.  Besides the point I am more inclined to play FPS games on the PC.

Uncharted is a TPS, it's not generic at all. You can miss Resistance, but Killzone 2 is a great experience.

Prince Of Persia - best in the series?  I've heard otherwise.  I heard the open level progression breaks the difficulty curve.

It's fun, but repetitive, and too easy at times.

Mirrors Edge - Heard it was innovative, just put together very badly

There are far better games out there. It is innovative though.

Metal Gear Solid - What is there that wasn't in the previous metal gear games?  I'm not really concerned with story.

If you don't want a game with story, and if you aren't willing to watch cutscenes, skip it.

Heavenly Sword - Isn't that a generic (and bad) hack and slash game with a big rack on the box art to generate sales

Blech. Wait for God of War III and if you must get a hack and slash, DMC4 is better.

Tom Raider: Und - Isn't that a generic (and bad) shooter game with a big rack on the box art to generate sales.

OH HELL NO. If you want a far superior game like that, get Uncharted.

Little Big Planet - Isn't this game heavily user content generated?

It has 37 developer-made levels in a LOOOOONG campaign spanning many different areas, and there are trophies for aceing each level (completing without dying) and for collecting all prizr bubbles. Even if you ignore the user-generated content, there's plenty to do. Don't ignore the user generated content, it's the best part of the game. Don't worry, there are over a million levels, and you can find a level for pretty much everything. If you don't find one for something, make it! It's relatively simple.

I remain open minded despite my preconceptions about these games.  I wouldn't want to ask for people's opinions and then throw it in their faces when I think they are bad.  Feel free to defend your position.

There you go. Replies in bold.

EDIT: I will also add that Heavenly Sword isn't bad, just short and uninspired.
