Most jRPGs I remember waiting for in the past usually took half a year or longer to localize, so an April or May release doesn't seem entirely out of line. The only jRPGs that I can even remember having quick Japan to US turnarounds are some recent of the more recent ones on the 360, and that's probably because Microsoft pushed for a quick Western releases since the 360 is much more prevalent in the US market. Dragon Quest VIII and VII both took somewhere around a year to localize in America, most Final Fantasy games starting from the PS1 era probably took around four to eight months for Western releases, so waiting 9+ months for a US release isn't really an anomaly. It's probably a bit longer than I would've hoped for, but I really can't do anything about it unless I want to teach myself more Japanese.
