NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! (what PS3 games do you own now? I assume you own more than just Lost Planet: Extreme Condition).
MAYBE if you own all of the awesome stuff (MGS4, Uncharted, LBP, VC, Fallout 3, Oblivion, BioShock, Killzone 2, inFamous, Ratchet, Fat Princess (lol), WipEout HD, Flower). After you own all of those, go ahead.
EDIT: I'll expand.
Assassin's Creed is not a bad game, not at all. However, it is flawed. Really, really flawed. Great concept, average execution.
1) If you're expecting inFamous-like platforming, think again. All Altair can do is climb buildings and hang onto ledges.
2) The combat system sucks. You basically just mash Square, occasionally holding L1.
3) After you complete an assassination, you have to either kill all the guards with aforementioned crappy combat system, OR you can run along the rooves, hide, and then find a hiding spot (much more enjoyable, but a lot harder).
4) You will be doing the same compulsory side quests AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. The game gets extremely repetitive. Ride, Pickpocket, Eavesdrop, Interrogate, Eavesdrop, ASSASSINATE, fight/run from guards, leave city, repeat another EIGHT TIMES.
5) The cutscenes are ridiculously long and REALLY badly thought out. You usually have a crappy angle, they are extremely dialogue heavy, and you don't CARE about what's being said. This is true firstly when talking to your Assassin master, he goes on about nothing for ages, and also just before your assassination- the enemy goes on for 10 minutes about how he is so great, and then you kill him, and he goes on for ANOTHER 10 minutes about how he was actually (apparently) a good guy. This isn't like MGS4, where the cutscenes are enjoyable. The cutscenes are a pain, they're unnecessary, and they are unskippable!
The story is pretty good, the actual assassinations are fun, and climbing up to view points and seeing the city around you is pretty amazing. But overall, it's pretty average.
