Most huge companies have to invest in other forms of business beyond what they are commonly know for. Typically this happens when a huge company hits a rut in regards to expanding markets or picking up market share. Hence why GM got caught years back investing in porno. XD |
Thats true but Sony wasn't in any rut, I know its smart buisness tactics but I believe in fair buisness practises and seeing Sony's more recent acts against some of the worlds biggest companies scares me. When BluRay launched their was talk all over of Sony whipping studios and even some of the worlds largest film makers stating that Sony would through its whole force behind BluRay and anybody who didn't join them would be left in the dust.
If you know much about the film and Music industry you realize right aways that the threat holds alot of water. Sony owns MGM , Columbia , TriStar on top of Sony Entertainment and the dozens of other film companies Sony owns. take the time to look over today's theater's look at whats playing and see just how many of those films are so way connected or made by Sony. It would be suicide for any film publisher to stand up to Sony.
Then when you account Sony's other investments way out of thewir field you notice that Sony holds positions of power throughout Japan. Sony works with the governments of both Japan and the US developement and research of technology. Sony holds the power in Japan owning its major electricity company it runs the toilets.
Simply investing a couple other fields is one thing but Sony doesn't just invest they come in and destroy anyone who opposses them. I dare you to look at just how many companies Sony owns or holds dominant shares in when I did a school project a few years ago I had a count around 70 everywhere from produce to chemical's and biological research firms. Sony is out to dominate and that mentality has scared the crap out of me and many people m sure share that same fear!
