Component cables can generally be had for not much money and quality seems to be much the same regardless of brand. I have the Nintendo ones and a cheap third party alternative and haven't noticed much of a difference.
It wouldn't make sense to me that you'd have ghosting only with Wii games as that should be a function of your TV and to my knowledge shouldn't be impacted greatly by the cables you use.
My advice would be to buy some cheap cables or borrow some if you can to see if it makes a significant difference but as LordTheNightKnight said a 480i/p image is not necessarily going to look better on an LCD than a CRT.
