I think maybe I was quick to jump and think the 8 million was real, but it was number 1 for quiet some time worldwide in the PC markets, maybe not 8 million but given that the PC gamer market is still worth something it did really well. Activision even stated that it is:
For fiscal 2008, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the number one PC title in dollars worldwide, according to The NPD Group, Charttrack and Gfk.
Also my prediction of 25-30 million is only possible if it is truly the biggest entertainment launch this generation, which I actually think it might be. I somehow honestly believe it will be the most sucessful 360 in the end (again this is assuming it does what the first one did and more), and the 2nd best ps3 title in the end.
Actually since PC gaming market is no business of mine (I still think it is a safe market), I will minus my number by 8-10 million. So my real prediction is 15-22 million on the consoles gaming front by the very end of this generation.
Shio if you can provide any solid numbers please do, because I do want to know how well the PC market is, and what number 1 for half a year means in that market.
