I don't understand this logic. By that same standard, Rock Band and Monster Hunter 3 are unnecessary on the Wii as the primary controlllers for those games are a Guitar/Drums/Mic and Classic controller respectively. I'd rather devs focus on making the best game they can rather than implement motion and IR where it may not enhance the experience. It's their call, and your objection is awfully silly without knowing their reasons for not implementing it.
